Job summary

ZF LIFETEC in Mexico seeks a Product and Applications Engineer II to drive design, development, validation and engineering activities for automotive applications. You will work with global teams, manage Windchill documentation, and ensure compliance with customer specs and industry standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical fields and 3–6 years of automotive experience, strong Creo CAD skills, GD&T knowledge, and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in mechanical, mechatronics, automotive engineering or related field.
• Typically 3–6 years of relevant automotive engineering experience.
• Experience independently executing engineering projects or product development activities.
• Strong 3D CAD modeling and drawings; Creo strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of PLM systems and change management; Windchill preferred.
• Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical design principles.
• Ability to work with global teams and interpret customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and improve automotive products and components to meet requirements.
• Create, modify, and release 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using Creo.
• Perform design evaluations, including dimensional analysis and GD&T.
• Coordinate engineering changes and manage documentation with Windchill.
• Support product validation, root cause analysis, and design optimization.
• Collaborate with global design teams and cross-functional partners.
