Job summary

Cognizant seeks an Advanced OTA Test Automation professional to lead verification and validation for complex embedded and networked vehicle systems. You will design and execute automated tests using Python, Bash, CAPL, and CAN bus to validate automotive protocols and system behavior while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and executing automotive verification and validation campaigns for embedded control units and networks.
• Advanced scripting skills in Python and Bash for test automation, log analysis, and utilities.
• Proficiency in CAPL scripting and CAN bus testing to verify protocol implementations.
• Knowledge of automotive protocols like diagnostic communication and network management.
• Experience integrating test data management and CI pipelines with automotive verification workflows.
• Strong English communication for collaboration with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Design verification and validation strategies for automotive systems with project quality and regulatory alignment.
• Develop reusable automated test scripts in Python and Bash for embedded functions and interfaces.
• Create and maintain CAPL test cases for CAN bus networks ensuring message integrity and timing constraints.
• Execute manual and automated test suites in labs and bench setups to find defects and gaps.
• Analyze test results and logs to identify root causes and provide reproducible steps for developers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and ensure verification matches real-world use cases.
• Provide detailed test documentation including plans, procedures, and traceability matrices.
• Coordinate test activities across hybrid and international locations to keep assets and datasets consistent.
• Optimize test automation frameworks to reduce execution time and ensure regression coverage.
• Support field and lab validation campaigns requiring travel and proper data collection.
• Engage in continuous improvement to adopt new CAN bus analysis tools and scripting practices.
