Luxoft in Querétaro, Mexico is seeking an Automotive Lighting Optical Design Engineer to shape innovative headlights, taillights, and projection systems.

You will define optical concepts, run photometric simulations with LucidShape/SPEOS/ASAP, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams globally to ensure regulatory compliance and product performance.

This role emphasizes rigorous design, precise tolerance analysis, and strong problem solving to deliver high-quality lighting solutions.

Formación

• Degree in Engineering or specialization in Optomechatronics, Physics, Mechatronics, Photonics, Mechanics or related field.
• Experience in automotive optical design for headlights, taillights, light guides, or projection systems.
• Proficiency in photometric simulation tools such as LucidShape, SPEOS, ASAP.
• CATIA V5 experience for optical surface integration with mechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of automotive lighting regulations (ECE, FMVSS 108/SAE).
• Experience with LED/laser projection, ADB, matrix projection, reflection/refraction.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze customer specs to define optical design criteria and product requirements.
• Define and evaluate optical technologies per performance requirements.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to assess concept feasibility.
• Design and optimize optical surfaces: reflectors, collimators, Fresnel lenses, light guides.
• Run photometric simulations with LucidShape, SPEOS, or ASAP.
• Prepare technical reports validating design compliance with regulations.
• Provide justifications for optical concept selection and design decisions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electronic teams for integration.
• Support tolerance analysis and correlate simulations with prototypes.
• Contribute to project plans and quality requirements.
