Luxoft in Querétaro, Mexico, seeks an Automotive Lighting Optical Design Engineer to develop and optimize headlights, taillights, and light guides. You will conduct photometric simulations and ensure regulatory compliance, collaborating with global engineering teams.

The role requires expertise in optical design, simulation tools, and automotive lighting technologies, with a focus on achieving high optical performance and reliable product integration.

Competenze

• Experience in optical design for automotive lighting (headlights/taillights/LED-based systems).
• Proficient in photometric simulations using LucidShape, SPEOS or ASAP.
• Knowledge of automotive lighting regulations (ECE, FMVSS 108).

Mansioni

• Analyze customer specifications to establish optical design criteria and product requirements.
• Define and evaluate optical technologies and concepts according to product performance requirements.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to assess feasibility of optical concepts.
• Design and optimize optical surfaces including reflectors, collimators, Fresnel lenses and light guides.
• Perform photometric simulations using LucidShape, SPEOS, or ASAP.
• Analyze simulation results and prepare technical reports to demonstrate compliance.
• Prepare technical justifications and recommendations to support design decisions.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electronic, and other teams for integration of optical components.
• Support optical tolerance analysis and correlation with prototypes.
• Contribute to product development activities per project plans and quality requirements.
