Job summary

Luxoft is seeking an Automotive Lighting Optical Design Engineer in Querétaro, Mexico, to support development and optimization of headlights, taillights, and light guides. The role involves defining optical concepts, performing photometric simulations, and ensuring compliance with automotive lighting regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related field with focus on optical design.
• Experience in automotive lighting optical design and simulation.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (ECE, FMVSS/SAE) for lighting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer specifications to set optical design criteria.
• Define and evaluate optical technologies for product performance.
• Design and optimize optical surfaces (reflectors, lenses, light guides).
• Perform photometric simulations using LucidShape, SPEOS or ASAP.
• Prepare technical justifications to support concept decisions.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electronics teams for integration.
• Support tolerance analysis and correlate simulations with prototypes.
• Contribute to project plans and quality requirements.
