Flex, located in Guadalajara, is seeking an Automation Software Engineer SR to define, develop, and implement automation projects, delivering reliable solutions for customers. The role focuses on software development for automation, safety assessments, and collaboration with project teams to meet timelines.

The ideal candidate will have strong PLC programming experience with Mitsubishi & Omron, robot and vision system expertise, and a solid background in manufacturing processes.

Formación

• Strong experience in software development delivering reliable solutions.
• Ability to identify root causes and debugging for automation equipment; knowledge of electrical diagrams and safety devices.
• Strong PLC programming experience with Mitsubishi and Omron.
• Experience in programming in C++ or JavaScript.
• Robot programming experience with Epson, Fanuc, Nachi, UR, ABB, Kuka or similar.
• Vision system experience with Cognex or Keyence.
• Experience with industrial protocols (OPC, Profibus, Fieldbus, Modbus, TCP/IP, etc.).
• Knowledge of sensors and their selection for applications.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing and mechanical assembly processes (dispensing, screw-fastening, welding, soldering, testing).

• Evaluate and provide robust safety solutions for automated equipment.
• Identify root causes of failures in automated equipment and implement solutions.
• Participate in daily production activities and solve daily issues.
• Contribute to internal process improvement efforts.
• Develop software solutions to meet automation equipment requirements per Flex standards.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to meet project timelines.
• Share knowledge in a team environment.
• Be proactive, self-driven and motivated.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add an Automation Software Engineer SR located in Guadalajara, North Campus. The Automation Software Engineer role involves being responsible for Defining, Developing, & Implementing Automation projects. Focusing on delivering reliable solutions for our customers.

What a typical day looks like:

• Develop Software for Automation solutions under the current standard.
• Evaluate and provide robust solutions on safety for automatic equipment.
• Have the capability to independently identify root causes of failures in the automated equipment, to provide and implement solutions.
• High level participation in daily production activities and effective problem solving on daily issues.
• High level participation in internal process improvements.
• Able to develop software solutions to fill automation equipment requirements following Flex standardization.
• Work in collaboration with Project Manager to meet projects timelines.
• Work in a team environment sharing knowledge among colleagues.
• Is proactive, self-driven and motivated.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Software Development, delivering reliable solutions.
• Development, using SW, such as: Phyton, Visual studio, others.
• Capable to find rout causes and debugging for Automation development equipment knowledge in Electrical Diagrams for automation equipment experience in Safety devices implementation and evaluation for automation equipment
• Strong experience in PLC programming Structured language Mitsubishi & Omron.
• Experience in programming skill with at least one of the following languages’++ or JavaScript.
• Similar programming languages will be a good skill to add.
• Strong experience in Robot programing, such as: Epson, Fanuc, Nachi, UR, ABB, Kuka or others related
• Strong experience Vision System equipment, such as: Cognex or Keyence
• Strong experience with industrial protocols like OPC, Profibus, Fieldbus, Device net, IO-link, Modbus, TCP/IP or similar.
• Knowledge in sensors brands and their selection according to application
• Experience in manufacturing process for electronics devices and mechanical assemblies (e.g., dispensing, screw-fastening, welding, soldering, general knowledge in testing, etc.)

Desirable:

• Desirable Training in safety and ergonomics.
• Advanced English, written and spoken (Conversational)
• Desirable Valid US Visa and passport
