Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Mexico is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to safeguard the reliability, availability, and performance of automated production equipment throughout the program lifecycle. You will develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies and provide technical support for maintenance and controls systems.

You will lead root cause analyses, coordinate with Production, Process Engineering, Controls, Quality and suppliers, and ensure safe, maintainable, and sustainable operation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, or related Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in automotive electronic component manufacturing, supporting automated processes.

Responsibilities

• Support, troubleshoot and optimize automated production equipment including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, drives, sensors and safety systems.
• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance plans based on equipment criticality and history.
• Plan lifecycle maintenance activities such as overhauls, component replacements, and controls upgrades.
• Analyze downtime, MTBF, MTTR and recurring failure modes to improve reliability.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions for chronic issues.
• Define critical spare parts strategy for controls, automation and high-risk equipment.
• Maintain backups of PLC/HMI programs, robot programs and drive parameters.
• Coordinate maintenance with Production, Process Engineering, Controls, Quality and suppliers.
• Ensure equipment remains safe, maintainable, and reliable from launch through program end.
