Santamarina y Steta, S. C. is seeking a qualified lawyer to join our Mexico City or Monterrey offices, focusing on Insurance, Environmental, or Real Estate law.

The ideal candidate holds a law degree and brings 1–11 years of relevant experience, plus excellent English communication.

This role involves drafting and negotiating real estate documents, performing due diligence, supporting environmental permitting, and advising clients in the Mexican insurance sector.

Formación

  • A qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials.
  • 1–11 years of experience in insurance, environmental, or real estate law as a licensed attorney or nearing title completion.
  • Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsabilidades

  • Assist in drafting, review, and negotiation of real estate agreements including purchase and lease documents.
  • Conduct legal due diligence for real estate transactions including title review and zoning.
  • Support environmental compliance and permitting processes with federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Analyze environmental regulations applicable to real estate developments and industrial projects.
  • Advising insurance companies and other participants on operations in Mexico.

We are looking for a professional with a law degree with experience in Insurance, Environmental or Real Estate law for our office in Mexico City or Monterrey office.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials.
  • A minimum of 1 to 11 years of experience in insurance, environmental or real estate as a licensed attorney or with finished degree in process of getting the title.
  • Excellent English communication skills (fluency in reading, writing, speaking).
  • Interest in gaining experience over both areas.
  • Strong client service orientation - a "client first" mentality.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with clients.
  • Good communication skills and ability to build a strong working relationship with various stakeholders or clients.
  • Maturity, gravitas, and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to work well in both a team and individually.
  • High sense of urgency.
  • Respects and enjoys the diversity of backgrounds found in the firm and amongst our client base.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the drafting, review, and negotiation of real estate agreements, including purchase agreements, lease agreements, easements, and related documents.
  • Conduct legal due diligence for real estate transactions, including title review, zoning, land use, and regulatory compliance matters.
  • Support environmental compliance and permitting processes, including permits, licenses, and filings with federal, state, and local authorities.
  • Analyze and research environmental regulations applicable to real estate developments, industrial operations, and infrastructure projects.
  • Advising insurance companies, insurance agents, and other participants in the insurance system, including intermediaries, foreign insurers, and reinsurers, on their operations in Mexico.
