Kautex in Mexico is seeking an Associate Product Development Engineer to drive a product from concept through prototyping, validation and mass production readiness. You will balance customer requirements with cost targets and timing, coordinating across design, manufacturing and industrialization teams.

You will lead technical discussions, supervise product testing including hazardous materials handling, and support flawless launches by managing technical issues with the Program Manager.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electronical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable education.

Responsabilidades

• Develop customer product from concept through prototyping, validation and mass production readiness.
• Ensure proactive requirements and risk management for all technical aspects.
• Ensure that customer specifications as well as cost targets, design-to-manufacture and timing goals are met.
• Knowledge about and compliance to the customer specific requirements.
• Seek for and achieve customers’ buy in to utilize standardized development and validation testing, if and where useful and applicable.
• Act as technical liaison between product development teams and the customer and all other internal functions like design, manufacturing and industrialization.
• Supervise product testing including handling of hazardous substances, interpretation of test results, introduction of necessary actions and modifications.
• Support flawless launches by planning and controlling all technical issues related to assigned project and support the Program Manager in delivering highest quality solutions to our customers.
• Provide product engineering expertise in a professional manner during customer visits and audits, with the team as well as in collaboration with other departments (e.g. manufacturing).
• Act as a Technical Project Lead Engineer with responsibility for a technical team in small/medium complex projects.

Educación

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electronical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable education
• Blow molding or injection molding product design knowledge including welding and assembly is a strong plus
