Molex is seeking a Product Design Engineer to transform technical requirements into practical solutions for automotive connectivity products. You will contribute to product performance, manufacturability, and reliability through design development and disciplined engineering change management.

You will collaborate with a global team across design, validation and manufacturing to support product transfers and launches, ensuring customer and internal requirements are met.

Formación

• Experience creating or modifying 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software such as NX or CATIA.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance-stack analysis and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
• Experience analyzing product test results against requirements.
• Experience managing engineering changes and technical documentation.
• Fluent English communication, both written and spoken; travel up to 10%.

As a Product Design Engineer, you will help develop and validate automotive connectivity products by transforming technical requirements into practical design solutions. You will contribute to product performance, manufacturability and reliability through design development, technical analysis, validation planning and disciplined engineering change management.

Our Team

You will collaborate with a global engineering and manufacturing team supporting the development and launch of automotive connectivity products. This role offers the opportunity to work across product design, validation and manufacturing processes while contributing to solutions that meet customer and internal requirements.

What You Will Do

• Develop and modify three-dimensional models and two-dimensional drawings using NX or comparable computer-aided design tools and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards
• Document product requirements, project scope, feasibility assessments and engineering work plans
• Prepare and manage engineering changes and related technical documentation
• Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Finite Element Analysis, tolerance-stack analysis and other design studies
• Develop Design Verification Plan and Report activities and analyze test results using statistical methods
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D and 5 Whys
• Work with global engineering and manufacturing partners to support product development, transfers and launches

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience creating or modifying 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using NX, CATIA or comparable CAD software
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, tolerance-stack analysis and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
• Experience analyzing product test results against technical or performance requirements
• Experience managing engineering changes, technical specifications or product documentation
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, and availability to travel up to 10%

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor’s degree, technical degree or undergraduate studies in engineering or a related field
• Experience in automotive, aerospace, industrial product design or a related engineering environment
• Experience designing connectors, headers, plastic components or automotive electrical products
• Knowledge of injection molding, stamping, plating, assembly, engineering resins or metals
• Experience with statistical-analysis tools such as Minitab
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Teamcenter
• Familiarity with technical specifications such as USCAR or GMW
• Experience supporting product transfers or manufacturing launches
