Kautex is seeking a Specialist Equipment to lead the equipment/ tooling support for water cooling, welding, and automation in our Puebla plant. You will define scope requirements, manage design reviews, and drive PDCA through the project lifecycle.

The role requires 5+ years in tooling/finishing/assembly within automotive/plastics manufacturing, strong English, and willingness to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally.

Formación

  • Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering background required.
  • At least 5 years in tooling/finishing/assembly.
  • Experience in automotive/plastics manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficiency in English; travel up to 10%.

Responsabilidades

  • Be the equipment/technology support function for water cooling systems, plastic welding, leak testing, assembly, and automation.
  • Define scope requirements for tools/equipment based on CAD, cycle time, quality, standards.
  • Lead design reviews, pre-acceptance and final acceptance milestones; track and resolve issues (PDCA).
  • Participate in strategic new product development initiatives (Pentatonic, Industry 4.0).
  • Implement standards and ensure knowledge transfer; update PDCA and lessons learned.

What awaits you:

Be the equipment/technology support function primarily in the assigned areas pertaining to water cooling systems, plastic welding, leak testing, assembly processes, and automation.

Responsible for defining scope requirements for tools and equipment based on CAD, cycle time, quality, Kautex Standards, and performance expectations.

Function as the primary contact, when necessary, for tooling and equipment suppliers throughout the build phase, lead design reviews, pre-acceptance and final acceptance milestones, and track and resolve open issues (PDCA – Plan Do Check Act) pertinent to their assigned projects.

Participate as lead or support function for new product development initiatives that are strategic to the business in areas such as Pentatonic and Industry 4.0.

Follow and support Kautex Manufacturing Standards as well as development of new Standards and updating of existing Standards as needed.

Implement lessons learned, ensure transfer of technical knowledge and prevent recurrence of failures.

Participate or lead assigned equipment/tooling downtime reduction efforts.

  • Define and Support Risk Assessments for your area of responsibility.
What you’ll need to succeed:

Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering, or equivalent based on experience and education.

Master’s degree a plus, but not mandatory.

Minimum 5 years of experience in tooling/finishing/assembly.

Minimum 5 years of experience in the automotive industry and/or in a plastics manufacturing plant / shop floor.

Fuel System experience preferred.

Siemens and Festo knowledge preferred but not mandatory.

PLC programming (Siemens S7 / TIA Portal) has a definite advantage.

Robotics experience a definite advantage (Fanuc preferred but not mandatory).

Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification a benefit.

Support of projects in plants abroad.

The ideal candidate will be expected to successfully manage multiple projects in parallel.

Able to travel a maximum of 10% domestically or internationally without restrictions.

Occasional overtime may be required.

Knowledge of Kautex standards.

Uphold Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) guidelines for all equipment and tooling.

Product Design Knowledge.

Primary Language of location (English language skills) is required.
