Applications Engineer

Your Role

• Manage CQI and GIMS cross functional task force teams, create priorities, action plans and track progress, align and update initiatives list
• First responder to Component Quality Analysis Team New Emerging Issue alerts.
• Interacting with DSE, MFG and DRE to develop the next steps plan, document the plan to the team
• Coordinate any next steps and track progress working side by side with DSE/DRE setting up plans or tests needed
• Updating status and results into GIMS, our Quality Initiatives documents and QEC teardown results database.
• Manage prototype hardware procurements and ED&D reqs
• Manage BRT (Build Readiness Team) for prototype orders
• Lead for shipping & receiving parts/transmissions for builds to/from suppliers Drive designers & DRES on moving the changes through the system to meet the implementation timing milestones and participate in design reviews with the COES (weekly meetings)
• Ownership of mass/cost optimization (GCO/TCR)
• Lead resolution of commercial issues that are impeding release and PPAP timing (CE & Sr. Manager for PRC)
• Follow up with purchasing on prototype part timing
• Follow up with purchasing & plant on make vs. buy strategy
• Schedule & attend "Design reviews" ahead of ordering proto parts
• Author minutes with action items/ follow up for each design review Follow up on action item closure
• Work on special projects as needed

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer).
• Strong understanding of automotive systems(especially transmissions and components)
• Familiarity with quality systemslike CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) and GIMS (Global Issue Management System)
• Knowledge of PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and APQP
• Experience with prototype builds and ED&D (Engineering Design & Development) processes
• Understanding of cost/mass optimization tools(e.g., GCO/TCR)
