Autoliv is seeking an automotive design engineer specializing in seatbelt systems. You will design, test, and release production designs while coordinating with customers and internal teams throughout the development cycle.

You will apply RCA, GD&T, and 8D methodologies, and work hands-on with prototyping, fixtures, and testing to meet stringent specifications. English level required is B2 or higher.

Formación

• 2-5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience in product design and/or engineering roles.
• Mechanical Engineering degree or related engineering degree.
• English: minimum B2 level (mandatory).
• Root cause analysis expertise (RCA) and ability to interpret specs.
• Knowledge of 8D methodology.
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• SPC knowledge and experience.
• Experience with design tools, preferably CATIA.

Responsabilidades

• Design, test and release production seatbelt system designs.
• Manage release of design through Autoliv change process.
• Coordinate with customers on product development and implementation.
• Hands-on development, testing, sample builds and fixtures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including purchasing and quality.
• Serve as point contact to customers with Program Management.
• Release internal drawings and customer drawings.
• Support DV/ PV tests and DFMEA documentation.
• Lead projects from design to production startup including prototyping.
• Support VA/VE activities and benchmarking.
• Create and run test series to meet requirements.
• Analyze data, summarize results and present findings.
• Attend conferences outside standard hours as needed.
• Translate customer needs into organizational actions.
• Maintain company image internally and externally.
• Document technical aspects and retain data properly.

What You'll Do

• Design, test and release production seatbelt system designs
• Manage the release of the design through the Autoliv design change process
• Position requires ability to manage Customer relationships related to product development and implementation.
• Engineering background with good problem-solving skills, hands-on approach to development, testing, sample builds, teardowns, developing fixtures for testing and developing new test methodology.
• Active member of cross-functional team of design engineers, purchasing, quality, process and launch engineers.
• Work closely with Program Management as point contact to customers.
• Release internal component drawings, assembly drawings and customer drawings.
• Support the Autoliv Product Development System by releasing engineering documents related to product design/development such as DFMEA’s, DV/PV test reports, etc.
• Work with team members to coordinate projects from design through production startup including prototype/pre-production builds, testing and establishment of specifications.
• Responsible for supporting all technical processes including VA/VE and benchmarking.
• Create and run DV/PV test series to meet internal and customer requirements.
• Analyze test data, summarize results and create presentations.
• Attend conferences which could take place before or after normal working hours.
• Bring customer needs to organization and vice versa.
• Maintain company image both internally and externally.
• Document technical aspects of assigned projects and ensure that data is properly retained.

What Is Required

• 2-5 years of experience in the automotive industry
• Experience in product design and/or engineering roles
• Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree
• English: Minimum B2 level (mandatory)

• Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge
