Autoliv Mexico is seeking an Application Engineer to drive development and validation of steering wheel products pre- and post-SoP. You will lead cross-functional activities across OEMs, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure robust design and process compliance.

You will collaborate with global teams to validate programs, translate customer specs into manufacturable designs, and balance design intent with producibility, while advocating for CAE-driven decisions and quality objectives.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Advanced English skills required.
• Experience with StW, DAB, Automotive Interior Class A Component Design, Product Design, CAE preferred.
• Ability to understand manufacturing needs (die cast, RIM, injection molding, stamping, assembly).
• Interpreting CAE results and problem solving capabilities.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and validate steering wheel products pre- and post-SoP.
• Lead, execute and support project activities during technical phases.
• Collaborate with CFT, OEMs, manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Create/Validate Product Design for Steering Wheel and Driver Airbag.
• Work with customers to balance styling with Autoliv processes.
• Coordinate with global teams to validate and launch programs.
• Ensure designs meet manufacturability and customer specs.
• Drive design to meet 1P1P expectations.

Application Engineer

What you'll do:

• Responsible for the development and validation of steering wheel products pre and post-SoP
• Lead, execute and support various project activities during technical phases of awarded programs.
• This role will require collaboration with all CFT team members (divisional and global), interface with OEM’s, internal supporting groups, manufacturing facilities, and suppliers.
• Creating / Validating Product Design for Steering Wheel and Driver Airbag
• Working with the customer to negotiate styling vs. Autoliv standard design/processes.
• Working with global team members to locally validate and launch global programs.
• Balance between easy to manufacture and meeting customer needs.
• Understanding customer specifications and ensuring product is designed/validated accordingly.
• Driving the design to meet 1P1P expectations.

What is required:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Advanced English skills
• Highly desired previous experience with StW, DAB, Automotive Interior Class A Component Design, Product Design, CAE
• Ability to understand manufacturing needs e.g., Die cast, RIM, Injection Molding, Stamping, Assy
• Interpreting CAE Results
• Problem Solving Skills
