Helix is hiring Software Engineers II to work on Lab Systems or Enterprise Tools, contributing across the full development lifecycle and building scalable, AI-enabled software that supports genomic medicine. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, review AI outputs, and grow into greater ownership while working in a hybrid environment in Mexico City.

Formación

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Go, Python, Java) — for Enterprise Tools roles, experience with TypeScript or scripting languages is also relevant.
• Hands-on experience directing AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot) as part of your regular workflow, including reviewing and correcting their output.
• Familiarity with cloud basics (AWS or similar).
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

• Contribute to projects across the full development lifecycle - building features, fixing bugs, and helping ship reliable solutions that have real impact on users.
• Work with AI agents as a default part of how you ship; scope tasks clearly enough for an agent to execute independently and review its output.
• Write well-tested, readable code, participate in code reviews, and engage with feedback to grow.
• Collaborate with your team, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and build practical solutions.
• Develop familiarity with Helix’s products, codebase, and cloud infrastructure, taking on more ownership as you grow.
• Surface problems and blockers proactively.
