Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, seeks a Structural Engineer in Mexicali to conduct stress and fatigue analysis on aerospace components. You will perform both hand calculations and computer-based analyses, document activities, and work to defined design parameters.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, or similar software applications.
• Experience with load paths and airframe design using metals and composites.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Conduct stress and fatigue structural analysis of aerospace components.
• Perform structural analysis using conventional hand calc and computer-based analysis methods.
• Develop and document structural activities to assess the integrity of metallic and non-metallic aerospace products.
• Work to defined design parameters to assess the integrity of metallic and non-metallic aerospace component parts.
• Provide solutions to technical problems within assigned scope and complexity.
• Use, create and validate Continuous Improvement tools to solve problems.
• Communicate problems, issues, and opportunities to peers and supervision.
• Prepare technical documentation and presentations using MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders across international locations.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
