Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Mexicali is seeking a Principal Stress Engineer to lead advanced structural analyses of aerospace components, guiding stress and fatigue assessments and supporting structural testing. You will provide technical leadership through project management and collaboration with engineers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting stress and fatigue analyses of aerospace components.
• Experience applying classical hand-analysis methods in aerospace applications.
• Experience using FEA tools such as NASTRAN and PATRAN.
• Strong technical leadership and ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct stress and fatigue analyses of aerospace components using hand-analysis methods and computer-based structural analysis tools.
• Develop and document structural test activities to assess the integrity of metallic and nonmetallic aerospace products.
• Manage moderately sized technical projects related to structural analysis, ensuring alignment with objectives.
• Review technical deliverables, delegate assignments, and coach lower-level engineering professionals.
• Identify and implement improvements to structural analysis processes and products to enhance performance.
• Contribute to discipline goals and planning activities, including operational plans and budgets.
• Provide technical input to processes and standards that support business strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders within and outside the structural analysis discipline and influence practices.
