Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer (ASQE) at Molex leads supplier quality activities during early phase introductions, ensuring readiness and risk mitigation before production launches. You will work cross-functionally with global teams across the Americas, Europe, and Asia to drive APQP/PPAP, supplier evaluations, audits, and remediation initiatives, ensuring compliance with customer requirements.

Travel to supplier sites will be frequent to validate capacity, quality performance and production

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, APQP, PPAP, or NCI activities.
  • Experience with automotive, medical device, or regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D, and problem-solving.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead supplier quality planning from quotation through production launch.
  • Coordinate APQP activities and key deliverables.
  • Manage PPAP, FAI approvals, and new material validation.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and audits for domestic and international suppliers.
  • Identify quality risks early and drive mitigation actions.
  • Follow up on containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in selecting and qualifying new suppliers and sourcing options.
  • Ensure readiness for launches, process validation, and incoming inspection.
  • Monitor supplier performance and communicate risks to stakeholders.

Your Role:

We are looking for an Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer (ASQE) to lead supplier quality activities during the early phases of new component introductions, ensuring supplier readiness, risk mitigation, and compliance with Molex and customer requirements before production launch.


Our Team:

You will be part of the TIS division, working cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Program Management, and Quality teams to develop a robust supply chain and ensure successful new product launches. You will have regular interaction with global suppliers across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.


What You Will Do:


  • Lead supplier quality planning activities for new components from quotation through production launch.

  • Coordinate APQP activities and ensure completion of key supplier quality deliverables.

  • Manage PPAP, FAI approvals, and new material validation processes.

  • Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and development activities for domestic and international suppliers.

  • Identify quality risks during early development phases and drive mitigation actions.

  • Follow up on supplier quality issues, including containment actions, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Participate in the selection and qualification of new suppliers and sourcing alternatives.

  • Ensure readiness for new product launches, process validations, and incoming inspection strategies.

  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and communicate risks to internal stakeholders.

  • Maintain and improve Supplier Quality Assurance procedures and methodologies.

  • Conduct frequent supplier visits to validate capacity, quality performance, and production readiness.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, APQP, PPAP, or New Component Introduction activities.

  • Experience working with suppliers in automotive, medical device, or regulated manufacturing industries.

  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D, and problem-solving methodologies.

  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and quality documentation.

  • Advanced English proficiency (C1 or higher).

  • Availability to travel frequently within Mexico, the United States, South America, Asia, and Europe.

  • Experience managing projects and working within cross-functional teams.


What Will Put You Ahead:


  • Experience conducting supplier audits under IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing process validation and Statistical Process Control (SPC).

  • Experience supporting new product launches or component transfer projects.

  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.

  • Experience working with global suppliers in multicultural environments.

  • Quality certifications, Lead Auditor certification, or continuous improvement certifications.
