Atlantica Sustainable Infrastructure Plc in Mexico is seeking an Advanced Permitting Specialist to support permitting for renewable energy projects. You will manage project documentation, identify permitting requirements, and assist in preparing permit applications under supervision.

This role emphasizes regulatory compliance, records management, and coordination with public agencies and project teams to track schedules and deliverables.

Formación

  • 0–3 years of experience in permitting, administration, or regulatory affairs (renewable energy, utilities, or construction is a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of building codes, zoning, and permitting processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with electronic records systems.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

  • Manage project documentation and ensure it is complete and ready for handover to the Engineering team.
  • Support the identification of permitting requirements at local, state, and federal levels for assigned projects under supervision.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting permit applications, including gathering technical documents and supporting data.
  • Help ensure submitted plans and documents meet basic regulatory and code requirements.
  • Maintain records, permit logs, and digital files following established company standards.
  • Support communication with public agencies and project team members to follow up on routine requests.

We are currently recruiting a Advanced Permitting Specialist to join our team and contribute to key projects in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role is part of a global team working towardcommon goals. We operate as one company, across all locations, with shared responsibility andclear accountability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project documentation and ensure it is complete and ready for handover to the Engineering team.
  • Support the identification of permitting requirements at local, state, and federal levels for assigned projects under supervision.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting permit applications, including gathering technical documents and supporting data.
  • Help ensure submitted plans and documents meet basic regulatory and code requirements.
  • Maintain records, permit logs, and digital files following established company standards.
  • Support communication with public agencies and project team members to follow up on routine requests.
  • Research and summarize basic permit regulations, codes, and construction documents as directed.
  • Assist in scheduling field inspections and maintaining activity logs.
  • Help monitor regulatory changes and update project teams with guidance from senior staff.
  • Perform administrative tasks and support report preparation as assigned
  • Support preliminary assessments of solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects by compiling site, land, access, resource, and grid information.
  • Gather inputs from engineering and external consultants for preliminary layouts, technical descriptions, schedules, and feasibility reviews.
  • Assist in tracking environmental, social, land-use, generation, and interconnection requirements applicable to each project.
  • Help coordinate consultant requests for proposals, compare deliverables against scope, and follow up on outstanding technical information.
  • Update project milestones, permit trackers, budgets, and risk logs; flag missing documents and potential schedule impacts to senior staff.
  • Support site visits and meetings, prepare concise notes, and track agreed actions with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Urban Planning, Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field.
Experience & Technical Skills
  • 0–3 years of experience in permitting, administration, or regulatory affairs (experience in renewable energy, utilities, or construction is a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of building codes, zoning, and permitting processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with electronic records systems.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Eager to learn and attentive to detail.
  • Follows instructions and escalates issues as needed.
  • Collaborative team player, reliable, and accountable.
