STERIS is seeking a Credit Manager in Monterrey to oversee credit terms, accounts receivable, and contract documentation. You will coordinate with Billing, Legal, and Audit teams to ensure timely collections, accurate invoicing, and robust controls.

The role emphasizes risk assessment, KPI tracking, and cross‑functional collaboration across Finance. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in credit/collections, strong Excel and ERP (SAP) skills, and experience with CFDI and payment arrangements.

Formación

Position Summary

Ensure efficient and timely management of customer credit and accounts receivable, minimizing overdue balances, guaranteeing adequate cash flow, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers. The position is also responsible for ensuring that relevant projects and commercial agreements are properly documented through formal contracts and agreements, in coordination with the Legal and Audit departments.

Duties

The following list summarisess the main resposibilities of this role:

Credit Management
  • Analyze, recommend, and/or approve customer credit terms within corporate policies, documenting decisions, limits, and associated risks.
  • Periodically evaluate credit exposure and coordinate preventive actions for high-risk customers.
  • Collaborate with the commercial/sales teams to review commercial terms, agreement compliance, and adherence to credit policies.
Accounts Receivable & Collections Management
  • Continuously monitor Credit Hold reports, accounts receivable aging, and overdue balances, ensuring timely follow up and recovery actions.
  • Conduct direct follow up with customers (email, calls, meetings) to manage collections, negotiate payment arrangements, and resolve balance or billing disputes.
  • Coordinate with Treasury for accurate and timely application of payments, advances, discounts, and credit notes.
  • Follow up on disputes, balance discrepancies, returns, and credit notes until full resolution.
Billing, Rebilling, and Contractual Documentation
  • Coordinate with Billing to ensure accurate and timely issuance of invoices, credit notes, rebillings, and account statements.
  • Actively participate in the Rebilling Committee, ensuring thorough review, justification, and proper documentation for each case.
  • Lead or support internal and external audits related to rebillings, including documentation review, compliance validation, and response to findings.
  • Document projects, commercial agreements, and payment arrangements through contracts, payment agreements, debt acknowledgment letters, or other formal documents.
  • Coordinate with the Legal department (internal and external) to review, validate, and formalize agreements related to credit, collections, and commercial conditions.
Cross Functional Coordination & Compliance
  • Collaborate with the Tax department on fiscal requirements related to CFDI, credit notes, returns, and supporting documentation.
  • Support internal and external Audit, providing information, documentation, and explanations, and addressing findings on time.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, corporate guidelines, and applicable regulations related to credit, collections, contractual documentation, and audit.
  • Escalate significant risks, critical customers, or deviations to the Finance Director.
Reporting, Analysis & Continuous Improvement
  • Prepare and present periodic portfolio reports, including aging, DSO, provisions, high-risk accounts, and collection KPIs.
  • Propose improvements to credit, collections, documentation, and rebilling processes, including automation and control enhancements.
  • Implement best practices to reduce errors, operational risk, and response times.

Education Degree

Required Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in credit and collections and/or accounts receivable in medium or large companies, ideally multinational.
  • Preferred experience in managing contractual agreements and payment arrangements with customers, and interaction with legal and audit departments.
Knowledge Requirements
  • Credit and collections processes, account statement analysis, reconciliations, and aging management.
  • ERP management (e.g., SAP or other financial systems) and Excel for analysis and reporting.
  • Basic tax knowledge related to billing and collections (CFDI, credit notes, supporting fiscal requirements).
  • General understanding of commercial contracts, payment agreements, and basic legal documentation applied to credit and collection operations.
Skills and/or Business Competencies
  • Results-oriented and focused on cash flow.
  • Negotiation skills with customers and ability to handle conflict situations.
  • Organization, planning, and effective follow-up in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Clear and assertive communication with internal teams and external customers, including Legal and Audit.
  • Analytical ability to interpret KPIs, identify risks, and propose corrective actions.
  • Integrity, compliance with policies, and strong internal control mindset.
Key Performance Indicators (Suggested KPIs)
  • Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Percentage of overdue accounts vs. total portfolio.
  • Percentage of recovery of overdue portfolio and accounts receivable turnover.
  • Average resolution time for billing disputes and balance discrepancies.
  • Accuracy in payment application and reconciliations (errors detected vs. total transactions).
  • Percentage of relevant projects and operations properly documented with formal contracts or agreements, without critical observations from internal or external Audit.
