Warner Bros. Discovery in Mexico City is seeking a Revenue Accountant to prepare revenue accounting entries under US GAAP, run month-end close, and support SOX controls.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years accounting experience, a BS in Accounting, and familiarity with SAP, Blackline, and Cadency, along with strong Excel, communication, and teamwork skills.

Formación

  • 2-4 years of work experience in an accounting role with US GAAP and SOX 404 knowledge.
  • BS/BA in Accounting from an accredited university.
  • Big-4 public accounting experience a plus.
  • Experience performing accounting functions in SAP preferred.
  • Experience using Blackline and Cadency to post journal entries and perform account reconciliations preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and PC skills.
  • Results oriented with strong attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

  • Handle day-to-day, month and quarter end close activities for assigned region(s) including journal entries, reconciliations, bad debt reserve analysis, SOX control prep, and other tasks.
  • Perform revenue cut-off procedures at month and quarter-end including revenue accruals.
  • Cultivate strong internal partnerships with accounting, finance, and other departments.
  • Use analytical and problem-solving skills to review accounts and revenue processes for continuous improvement.
  • Assist internal and external audits as requested.
  • Be proactive about learning the business and upstream processes to improve accounting efficiencies.
  • Participate in professional development and other non-core activities and initiatives.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Your New Role

The Revenue Accountant will be responsible for preparing daily, monthly, and quarterly revenue accounting journal entries in accordance with US GAAP and company policies, performing SOX controls, preparing relevant reports and schedules necessary for management and external reporting obligations, and assisting accounting manager with internal and external audit requests.

Your Role Accountabilities
  1. Handle day‑to‑day, month and quarter end close activities for assigned region(s) including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, bad debt reserve calculation/analysis, SOX control preparation, and other tasks as requested by management, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met on time.
  2. Perform revenue cut‑off procedures at month and quarter‑end for assigned region(s) including preparation of revenue accruals to ensure revenue is properly and accurately recorded for the period.
  3. Cultivate strong internal partnerships with accounting, finance, and other business departments.
  4. Utilize strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to perform review of accounts and revenue processes in order to foster a continuous improvement environment.
  5. Assist internal and external audit in their audit procedures as requested.
  6. Be proactive about learning the business and upstream processes to ensure proper accounting and identify efficiencies.
  7. Participate in professional development and other non‑core business activities and initiatives.
  8. Other ad‑hoc tasks as required.
Qualifications & Experiences
  • 2‑4 years of work experience in an accounting role and an appropriate understanding of US GAAP and SOX 404 requirements.
  • BS/BA in Accounting from an accredited university.
  • Big‑4 public accounting experience a plus.
  • Experience performing accounting functions in SAP preferred.
  • Experience using Blackline and Cadency to post journal entries and perform account reconciliations preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and PC skills.
  • Results oriented and strong attention to detail.

Other Requirements
  • English advanced – Portuguese a plus.
