Job summary

Abjengineering is seeking a QC Inspector to monitor construction quality, perform in-process inspections, and ensure compliance with contract requirements and international codes. The role covers plumbing, HVAC, equipment, fire protection, painting, and insulation.

You will coordinate with clients, maintain traceable documentation, and uphold QA/QC standards across EPC projects. Strong NDE/Welding inspection credentials and experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Three-year Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.
• QC experience in EPC projects (construction, piping, pressure vessel fabrication) with ASME Certification marking.
• Facility Maintenance QC experience in Petrochemical, Refinery, Oil & Gas or related infra facilities.
• Knowledge of NDE, Welding Technology, Painting, Electrical & Instrumentation, Civil works.
• Familiarity with Codes/Standards and Materials Codes/Standards.
• Ability to read/interprete drawings and applicable international standards and procedures.
• Certification for nondestructive testing (ASNT-TC Level II) and Welding Inspection (AWS/CSWIP).
• 5–7 years of experience in the relevant business line projects.
• Bachelor’s degree related to Engineering/Construction.
• Data analysis and computer/database management.

Responsibilities

• Verify QC activities in Plumbing, HVAC, Equipment (static & rotating), Fire fighting, Painting, and Insulation.
• Apply interpretation of International Codes (e.g., ASME B31, ASME Sec IX).
• Coordinate NDT activities and review NDT reports.
• Read and interpret drawings and project documents to ensure compliance.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To monitor the construction process to ensure all quality requirements by performing all the in-process stage inspection activities during the fabrication, installation, final testing of the product/ process are met in accordance to the Organization procedures, contract requirements and relevant international Codes/ Standards of practice.

GENERAL

1. To check, inspect and test incoming raw materials/ instruments to ensure that they meet project contract specification/ contract requirements
2. To perform the in-process inspection as per QC procedures and Inspection and Test plan (ITP)
3. To coordinate with Client/ Consultant for the verification of process inspection for varies QC activities and signing off all QC documents
4. To follow and ensure the proper filling system in accordance to the Organization procedure) with full traceability for retrieving the document

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Three-year Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering

• QC experience mainly in reputed Organizations, having business in EPC Projects (and/or) Construction (and/or) Piping/ Special Structural spool Fabrication Shop (and/or) Pressure vessel manufacturing shop for having ASME Certification Marking for Petrochemical, Refinery, Oil & Gas, Desalination, Power Plant type EPC projects.

Should have Facility Maintenance QC experience in Petrochemical, Refinery, Oil & Gas (or) Infrastructure Facility

• Knowledge and hands on experience in the quality control area of NDE, Welding Technology, Painting, Electrical & Instrumentation, Civil works as applicable.
• Familiarization with the respective Codes and Standards used in the various field of applicable Engineering specialization
• Knowledge on Material Codes/ Standards
• Reading and Interpreting drawings, International Standards (relevant to the discipline) and Procedures

• Certification for nondestructive testing techniques (ASNT- TC Level II in Non-Destructive Testing) and Welding Inspection (AWS/ CSWIP) as applicable
• 5 to 7 years of overall work experience in respective Business line projects of the Organization

MECHANICAL

1. To undertake verification of all QC related activities in Plumbing, HVAC, Equipment (Static & rotating), Fire fighting system , Painting & Insulation
2. To apply practical knowledge on the interpretation of respective International Codes & standards (Ex., ASME B31 Codes, ASME Sec IX etc.,) applicable for various jobs
3. To coordinate Non Destructive Testing (NDT) activities and review of NDT reports.
4. To read and interpret the applicable drawings and documents used in the projects while executing the work and to ensure the compliance
