Job summary

This kitchen role supports the senior cook in daily food preparation and section production. You will help gather ingredients, set up mise-en-place, and ensure all tasks align with hygiene rules and procedural standards.

You are expected to participate in training and help maintain equipment and cost controls while supporting management directives. Working in a busy kitchen, you will contribute to consistent food quality and smooth operations by following established procedures and maintaining

Qualifications

• Basic kitchen preparation and mise-en-place responsibilities.
• Knowledge of hygiene and sanitation practices in a kitchen.
• Willingness to participate in training and keep records of new recipes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cooperates and works with the senior cook in producing food in his section.
• Assist the senior cook in performing duties efficiently.
• Collect required food items from stores and butchery.
• Prepare mise-en-place according to section head directions.
• Follow hygiene and sanitation rules in the kitchen.
• Attend training classes and maintain records of new recipes and procedures.
• Maintain equipment in good, clean condition and arrange repairs/maintenance.
• Control waste to maintain food cost within budget without compromising standards.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.
