Job summary

Decorwise is seeking an experienced Interior Design Manager to drive commercial and retail interior design projects from concept through completion. You will coordinate development, manage execution, supervise site progress, and ensure quality, budget, and timelines align with approved designs.

The role requires strong interior design expertise, project management, and team leadership, with collaboration between clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to keep projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional interior design experience with a focus on commercial or retail projects.
• Experience coordinating interior design projects from design development through site execution.
• Strong knowledge of interior construction methods, materials, finishes, joinery, and detailing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and related design/documentation software.
• Working knowledge of SketchUp, 3D visualization, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior, MEP, and construction drawings.
• Strong project coordination and site management skills.
• Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the execution of commercial and retail interior design projects.
• Coordinate design development, technical drawings, material selections, and project documentation.
• Review drawings and design details to ensure accuracy, functionality, and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor site progress and ensure work is executed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Conduct regular site inspections and identify design, quality, or execution issues.
• Resolve site-related design and coordination problems in a timely manner.
• Manage project schedules, deliverables, and priorities to meet deadlines.
• Review material samples, finishes, shop drawings, and mock-ups when required.
• Ensure finished work meets design intent and client expectations.
• Lead and coordinate interior designers and other project team members.
• Communicate project updates, risks, and changes to management and clients.
• Assist with project cost control and monitor design-related variations.
• Coordinate with procurement and site teams to ensure materials/finishes available when required.
• Maintain organized project documentation, drawings, approvals, and revisions.
• Ensure compliance with building, safety, and project requirements.

About the Role

• Previous experience managing or coordinating interior design projects from design development through site execution.
• Strong knowledge of interior construction methods, materials, finishes, joinery, and detailing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong working knowledge of relevant design and documentation software.
• Working knowledge of SketchUp, 3D visualization, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, interior, MEP, and construction drawings.
• Strong project coordination and site management skills.
• Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients.
• Strong understanding of project schedules, specifications, quality control, and execution requirements.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and a practical understanding of how designs are translated into built environments.
• Professional proficiency in English; Arabic communication skills would be an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site and travel to project locations when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with retail stores, commercial spaces, showrooms, offices, or similar fit-out projects.
• Previous experience in an Interior Design Manager, Senior Interior Designer, Design Coordinator, or Project Manager capacity.
• Familiarity with local construction practices and authority requirements in Kuwait.
• Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, and contractor proposals.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating completed commercial or retail interior projects.
