Job summary

Babnimnim Design Studio in Kuwait City seeks a design-oriented Senior Architect to lead projects from initial concept to technical development, client presentations, and site execution. This is a design thinker role focused on proportion, context, and space with storytelling at its core.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to craft spaces that blend local materiality with global standards, guiding 3D teams, FF&E, and procurement while maintaining design integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead design process from narrative to built form with spatial logic and cultural grounding.
• Translate conceptual direction into precise drawings and details that preserve the original idea.
• Develop full design packages including mood boards, concept visuals, layouts and render direction.
• Collaborate with Creative Director and Senior Design Officer to deliver design development and detailing.
• Oversee material and finish selections reflecting tactility, craft and story.
• Provide design direction to 3D teams and review visuals before client sharing.
• Attend and contribute to client presentations and articulate the design rationale.
• Coordinate with engineers and site teams to ensure build-ability without compromising concept.
• Review and finalize FF&E, lighting, joinery, and spatial accessories with project designers.
• Support procurement reviews and site visits with attention to detail.

Role Description

We are looking for a design-oriented Senior Architect to join Babnimnim : a multidisciplinary design house with over 15 years of practice in architecture, interior design, and brand-driven spatial narratives. This is not a technical drafting role. We are seeking a design thinker: someone who understands proportion, context, and how to shape space with intention. Our ethos is rooted in storytelling, refinement, cultural depth, and human-scale design. We craft spaces that feel effortless yet layered, where materiality is local yet elevated, and every detail carries weight. You must be confident in leading a project from initial conception through to technical development, client presentation, and final execution on site, all while maintaining the narrative clarity and design integrity Babnimnim is known for.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process from narrative to built form, with a strong emphasis on spatial logic, aesthetic clarity, and cultural grounding.
• Translate conceptual direction into precise drawings and details that maintain the soul of the original idea.
• Develop full design packages: mood boards, concept visuals, layout plans, material palettes, and render direction.
• Collaborate with the Creative Director and Senior Design Officer to deliver concept, design development, and technical detailing with excellence.
• Oversee material and finish selections, especially those that reflect our practice’s emphasis on tactility, craft, and story (e.g., natural materials, textured surfaces, layered tones).
• Provide clear design direction to 3D teams and visualizers; review all visuals before client sharing.
• Attend and contribute to client presentations, articulating the story and reasoning behind every design decision.
• Coordinate with engineers and site teams to ensure build-ability without compromise to the concept.
• Review and finalize FF&E, lighting, joinery, and spatial accessories alongside project designers.
• Support procurement reviews and site visits when needed, with a keen eye on detail execution and alignment with drawings.

• Willing to think across disciplines, whether it’s a floor pattern, wall paneling, brand storytelling, or joinery detail.

Skills & Tools

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; MA is a plus.
• 5–7 years’ experience in a design-led firm.
• Fluency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite, 3D tools (Blender / 3ds Max).
• Strong sketching, diagramming, and conceptual representation skills.
• Fluent in English (spoken & written); Arabic is a plus.
• Experience in preparing presentation packs, construction details, and coordinating FF&E packages.
• Awareness of procurement, materials sourcing, and site supervision phases.
