Job summary

Four Seasons Kuwait in Kuwait City is seeking an experienced pastry/kitchen professional to assist in planning and developing menus for the employee cafeteria while ensuring consistent quality and presentation across all items.

You will help control labor and operating costs, enforce sanitation standards, and communicate with staff and managers to ensure smooth operations. The role offers growth within the organization and attractive employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel kitchen.
• Ability to work in a team and maintain composure under pressure.
• Excellent communication in English; Arabic language an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and development of employee cafeteria menus with consistent quality.
• Control labor and operating costs through org, purchasing and inventory control.
• Ensure sanitation standards per Four Seasons and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with staff and managers; participate in regular operations meetings.
• Collaborate professionally with coworkers and supervisors.
• Cost recipes and prepare pickup charts using spreadsheets for efficiency.
• Inspect food quality and conduct regular quality checks.
• Inspire and motivate the pastry team and lead team-building activities.
• Provide floor presence to develop pastry staff and support growth.
• Adapt to different shifts and pastry kitchen areas to meet business needs.

What you will do

• Assist in the planning and development of menus for the employee cafeteria; ensure the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared
• Control labor and operating expenses through effective organization, purchasing decisions, and inventory control
• Ensure that sanitation standards as set forth by Four Seasons, local, state, and federal regulations are in compliance as well as the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
• Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
• Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
• Able to type, cost recipes, make pick up charts and any spreadsheet needed to make work efficient.
• Ensure food quality is up to standards by inspecting and conducting frequent quality checks
• Inspire and motivate the Team members and conduct any Team building activities.
• Floor presence to demonstrate and develop the pastry Team in order to contribute in the success of the operation
• Able to work in different shifts and areas of the pastry kitchen to fulfill business needs and to acquire the knowledge needed to successfully meet the expectations for this role and be able to grow within the organization.

What you bring

• Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role within an Arabic specialty restaurant in a five-star luxury hotel environment.
• Works well in a team environment ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Be thorough and pay attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal communication skills in English is essential.
