Stellantis is seeking a Virtual Analysis Engineer to execute and achieve the virtual crash validation approval. You will contribute to the preparation and tuning of safety calculation models, run numerical simulations, and prepare summaries for engineering teams worldwide.

In this role, you will collaborate with Design Units and Safety Testing areas, propose design improvements, and ensure compliance with standards while optimizing cost, weight, and development time. Fluent English is required.

Competenze

  • 2–5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM).
  • Knowledge of pre-processing and post-processing tools (BetaCAE suite).
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical behavior of materials.

  • Support FEM modeling phase for CAE models.
  • Perform numerical simulations for safety load cases.
  • Review simulation results with experimental data and share with project team.
  • Prepare appropriate summary documentation of simulations.

Job Overview

The Virtual Analysis Engineer is responsible for executing and achieving the virtual crash validation approval.

Their activities are carried out in interaction with the following company functions:

  • Design Units (mainly Body / Chassis / Interiors / Engine systems / PRS), with which they propose and share design interventions to achieve targets
  • Safety Testing areas, with which they share virtual results and ensure consistency with previous experimental experience
  • The Safety Project Engineer (PE), who acts as the managerial/organizational interface with the project platform

The Virtual Analysis Engineer is responsible for:

  • Contributing to the preparation and tuning of Safety calculation models
  • Performing numerical simulations for the Safety virtual validation plan
  • Preparing summary documentation of the simulations performed
  • Proposing and sharing design improvements with engineering teams to achieve Safety targets, in line with cost, weight, and development time constraints
  • Ensuring compliance with all standards, specifications, and calculation best practices
  • Generating lessons learned and updating related specifications, standards, and best practices
Main Responsibilities
  • Support the FEM modeling phase, participating in the setup and preparation of CAE models for vehicle/subsystems aimed at crash analysis
  • Perform numerical simulations for various safety load cases
  • Review and analyze simulation results in alignment with experimental data and share them with project team, in alignment with SAFETY PE/PPL
  • Prepare appropriate summary documentation of simulations
  • Actively support the virtual validation process by proposing and evaluating improvements through simulations
  • Share improvement actions with design teams
  • Develop calculation methodologies to ensure the appropriate level of specialist expertise
  • Perform benchmarking activities, competitor analysis, and monitoring of technology and supplier/competitor know-how
Requirements
  • 2 - 5 years of experience
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM)
  • Knowledge of pre-processing and post-processing tools (BetaCAE suite)
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical behavior of materials (metals, polymers, plastics, etc.)
  • Fluent spoken and written English
Preferred Requirements
  • Knowledge of homologation test standards and automotive rating protocols
  • Basic knowledge of sheet metal design and stamping processes
  • Basic knowledge of CAD/PLM systems
  • Basic knowledge of LS-Dyna FE code

Offer & Salary

OfferSalary range: from 38.000€ to 45.000 €, that will be defined depending on the level of adherence of the candidate to the job requirements
