Job summary

ABB Energy Industries is seeking an experienced engineer to coordinate turbine projects, design experiments, and support testing, installation, and commissioning activities. You will collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure supplier alignment and contribute to safety and project documentation.

We value strong knowledge of DCS, I&C, and protection systems, with a background in ABB control systems. English and Italian communication is required, with willingness to travel for commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or technical diploma in Electrical or Automation Engineering with 3+ years in turbine control or industrial automation.
• Experience with automation products in Oil & Gas or Power Generation; turbine OEM experience is a plus.
• Strong background in DCS, I&C, and Protection systems; ABB Control Systems knowledge is a plus.
• Understanding of IT/IS networking, PC handling, Windows apps, cybersecurity.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CAD/AutoCAD, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe.
• Customer-focused with ability to build long-term relationships; travel as required.
• Willingness to participate in commissioning activities in Italy and abroad; fluent in English and Italian.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering across turbine projects, providing testing, installation and commissioning support.
• Design and conduct experiments; analyze data and prepare project documents.
• Improve work plan effectiveness in collaboration with other functions.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain to align technical requirements with suppliers.
• Provide technical evaluation of supplier proposals and approve fit-for-purpose equipment.
• Develop and apply standard techniques; ensure safety and contractual compliance.
• Prepare proposals including BOMs and estimated engineering hours.
• Create work plans and cost estimates; review scope, budget and schedule for timely, cost-effective deliveries.
