Job summary

ABB Italy is seeking an responsible engineer for protection and control projects, leading engineering tasks on small initiatives, developing relay and control solutions, and performing FAT/SAT testing with customers. The role combines independent delivery with cross-functional teamwork in a hybrid setup and aims to boost power reliability and safety.

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Automation preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree considered a plus.
• Experience with HMIs, PLCs and I/Os, preferably ABB products.
• Understanding of control system topologies and communication protocols.
• Strong independent and team work capabilities.
• Effective communication with customers and internal teams.
• Italian language proficiency and good English.
• Willingness to travel to support delivery projects.

In this role you will be the responsible engineer for protection and control project work, leading engineering tasks on small projects or portions of larger initiatives. You will develop protection relay and control system solutions, program project-specific applications, and conduct FAT/SAT testing in collaboration with customers. You’ll prepare technical documentation and participate in site commissioning, growing as an expert in ABB protection products. The role blends independent delivery with cross-functional teamwork in a hybrid setup, offering meaningful impact on power reliability and safety.
