Job summary

Mercor is seeking Telugu language experts for a remote contract role focused on PDF annotation and transcription. The work involves finding Telugu PDFs with multimodal elements, annotating structures, and recording detailed metadata and relationships across pages.

Candidates must be native Telugu speakers with strong script mastery and experience in annotation/transcription, including handling multi-column layouts and handwritten content.

Qualifications

• Native Telugu fluency with script mastery.
• Experience in document annotation or transcription.
• High accuracy with character-level detail.
• Ability to apply taxonomy consistently across pages.

Responsibilities

• Source Telugu PDFs with multimodal elements and record sources.
• Annotate structure by bounding regions and assigning types/read order.
• Record relationships by linking regions to parent components (figures/tables).
• Transcribe text in Telugu script, including handwritten content; flag illegible regions.
• Capture metadata: language, document type, source, page size, flags for tables/formulas/handwriting.
• Review colleague work; participate in end-to-end reviews as needed.
