Barilla invites applications for a Supply Chain Internship in Parma. Master’s degree students or recent graduates in Engineering or Economics with a focus on supply chain are welcome. You will work on Production Planning, Distribution Planning, Manufacturing Strategy and Customer Service, using data to improve planning and service levels.

Fluent English and Italian are mandatory. The program offers hands-on experience in an international environment with exposure to end-to-end supply chain

• Excellent academic background.
• Fluent English and Italian (mandatory)

Mansioni

• Production Planning: support planning activities through data analysis and reporting, monitor inventory levels and material availability, collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement and Packaging teams.
• Distribution Planning (Stock & Flows): analyze stock policies and safety stock, evaluate inventory performance, optimize stock levels and material flows across the network.
• Manufacturing Strategy: contribute to digital transformation initiatives, develop governance tools and training materials, understand manufacturing processes.
• Customer Service: assist in improving order management and service capabilities within the supply chain.

Job purpose

Are you passionate about data, problem solving and supply chain processes? Join our Supply Chain Internship Program and gain hands‑on experience in a dynamic international environment, working on real business challenges that contribute to delivering products to consumers every day.

Main activities

• Production Planning

  The team is responsible for ensuring the right products are available at the right time by balancing demand, production capacity and material availability. In this role, you will support planning activities through data analysis and reporting, monitor inventory levels and material availability, and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving planning efficiency and reducing supply risks. You will collaborate with different stakeholders across Supply Chain, Procurement and Packaging teams, gaining exposure to end‑to‑end planning processes.

• Distribution Planning (Stock & Flows)

  The team manages inventory and product flows across the supply network to ensure optimal product availability while maintaining efficient stock levels. As an intern, you will support the analysis of stock policies and safety stock parameters, evaluate inventory performance, and contribute to projects focused on optimizing stock levels and material flows across the network. You will work with planning data and advanced tools to identify opportunities for improving service levels and operational efficiency.

• Manufacturing Strategy

  The team is responsible for driving continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing operations. In this role, you will contribute to projects aimed at enhancing collaboration, knowledge sharing and process standardization across plants. You will support the development of digital solutions, governance tools and training materials, while gaining a deeper understanding of manufacturing processes and organizational best practices.

• Customer Service

  The team acts as a key link between customers and the Supply Chain, ensuring efficient order management and service excellence. As an intern, you will support projects focused on improving order management processes and customer service capabilities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree students or recent graduates in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, or Economics fields with a strong focus on Supply Chain topics.
• Excellent academic background
• Fluent English and Italian (mandatory)
• Study or work experience abroad (nice to have)
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work in team
