Hired is seeking a Strategic Project Lead for PCB and Embedded Design, reporting to drive end-to-end hardware development projects remotely. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across PCB layout, firmware, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing partners, shaping roadmaps and resource plans.

The role requires 7+ years in PCB/embedded systems, with at least 3 years in leadership, and deep knowledge of IPC standards, signal integrity, and manufacturing readiness.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in PCB design and embedded systems, with 3+ years in leadership.
• Proficiency in PCB tools: Altium, KiCad, Cadence Allegro.
• Embedded firmware development in C/C++ and debugging with JTAG/logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of IPC-2221, IPC-A-610, and UL certification processes.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity and thermal management.
• Experience with Git, Confluence, Jira for version control and documentation.
• Familiarity with manufacturing, DFM and supply chain coordination.
• Ability to assess risks and balance cost, schedule and performance.

Role Overview:

We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Strategic Project Lead (PCB & Embedded Design) to oversee end-to-end hardware development projects from concept to production. The role requires leadership in coordinating cross-functional teams including PCB layout, embedded firmware, mechanical engineering, and manufacturing partners. You will define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation while ensuring compliance with technical and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute project plans for PCB and embedded system designs, aligning with business objectives and technical feasibility.
• Lead collaboration between hardware engineers, firmware developers, and third-party vendors to deliver high-quality prototypes within budget.
• Manage PCB layout reviews, signal integrity analysis, and component selection to optimize performance and manufacturability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in PCB design and embedded systems development, with at least 3 years in a project leadership or management role.
• Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Cadence Allegro.
• Experience with embedded firmware development in C/C++ and debugging using JTAG or logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of industry standards including IPC-2221, IPC-A-610, and UL certification processes.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management in PCB layouts.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and hardware documentation tools (Confluence, Jira).
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and supply chain coordination.
• Ability to assess technical risks and propose mitigations while balancing cost, schedule, and performance trade-offs.
