Job summary

Van de Velde Packaging Group seeks a Purchasing Manager to lead strategic and operational procurement for raw materials (paper, board, film, adhesives, inks) and services. You will coordinate one junior resource and serve as the internal technical reference to support sales with accurate costings.

You will negotiate prices and terms, build long-term supplier relationships, monitor performance and optimize the subcontractor network.

Qualifications

• Experience in cartotechnics/packaging sector with proven track record in a similar role (Purchasing Manager, Head of Purchasing, or equivalent).
• In-depth technical knowledge of cartotechnics materials (paper and board types, weights, printing and finishing processes, lamination, die-cutting, creasing).
• Knowledge of supplier and subcontractor market in the sector, with an established network of contacts.

Responsibilities

• Selection, qualification, and evaluation of suppliers of raw materials and services; negotiate prices and supply terms.
• Ongoing monitoring of supplier performance (quality, reliability, on-time delivery).
• Management of long-term relationships and identification of new strategic partners.
