Job summary

Wieland is seeking a Production Buyer to manage material procurement and supplier relationships for on-site operations in Verona, VA. The role focuses on ensuring raw materials and components meet production needs while controlling costs and maintaining quality.

You will evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing purchasing, materials management, or supply chain.
• Strong understanding of MRP, BOM structures, lead times and their effects on operations.
• Experience negotiating with domestic and international suppliers.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
• APICS CPIM / CSCP or CPSM certification a plus

Responsibilities

• Evaluate supplier scorecards including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness and pricing.
• Develop alternative suppliers to reduce risk and support continuity.
• Work closely with plant leadership to ensure uninterrupted material flow to production.
• Resolve shortages, late deliveries, quality holds, and supply chain disruptions quickly.
• Coordinate with interconnected departments and manage purchase orders.
