Atlante is seeking an AI Engineer Intern in Milan to join the Data Platform & AI team and help design, develop, and deploy AI solutions for internal operations. You will build AI agents, knowledge-based systems, and conversational interfaces for real products and internal capabilities.

You will work on production-grade AI, contribute to strategy, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, international environment. Hybrid in Milan with growth opportunities.

Competenze

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a STEM degree (CS, statistics, engineering, math, physics or similar).
• Basic knowledge of Python.
• Fluent in English.
• Interest in Generative AI, LLMs, and their applications.
• Proactive, curious to learn fast and take initiative.

Position

Brief Description Of The Role

As AI Engineer Intern, you will join the Data Platform & AI team and contribute to the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions that support Atlante’s business operations. You will work on real products and internal capabilities, helping build AI agents, conversational interfaces, and knowledge-driven systems that are intended for production use.

Contribute to Atlante's AI strategy by delivering practical, robust, and maintainable solutions that improve internal workflows, decision-making, and user experience. The Data Platform is the foundation this role builds on: the structured data and knowledge base that make AI solutions reliable and reusable over time, rather than one-off experiments. Bring technical depth, initiative, and a product mindset to help shape how AI is adopted across the company.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain AI agents and AI-enabled workflows for Data analysis, Strategy, Market analysis, Energy management.


• Build and evolve knowledge-based systems and retrieval pipelines on top of Atlante's Data Platform, the structured data and knowledge foundation that AI solutions rely on.


• Develop conversational interfaces and intelligent access layers for data and internal content.


• Evaluate, test, and integrate AI tools, frameworks, APIs, and model providers.


• Support the implementation of reliable, scalable, and secure AI solutions in production.


• Contribute to solution design choices, including architecture, prompt strategy, retrieval approaches, and evaluation methods.


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.


• Monitor solution quality, identify issues, and iterate on performance and usability.


• Research emerging AI patterns, tools, and best practices relevant to Atlante’s use cases.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar).


• Basic knowledge of Python.


• Interest in Generative AI, LLMs, and their applications.


• Curiosity to explore new tools and learn fast.


• Proactive attitude, you don't wait to be told what to do.


• Fluent in English


• Experience with agent frameworks, MCP, or Claude Code is a plus but not required.
