indigo.ai is seeking a technically strong AI Implementation Intern in Milan to design, build, and integrate advanced AI agents and conversational automation solutions. You will work with LLMs, APIs, and multi-step workflows using our low-code platform, contributing to real client projects.

You will explore prompt engineering, data structuring, and orchestration of AI pipelines while collaborating with the AI Implementation Team to deliver production-ready solutions in a hybrid work setting.

Competenze

• Academic background in CS/ENG/Math or related technical field.
• Familiarity with Python or JavaScript for basic coding tasks.
• Understanding of REST APIs and JSON; curiosity for integrating external systems.
• Interest in Generative AI and hands-on experimentation with LLMs.
• Excellent Italian (C1) and good English for documentation and collaboration.

Now we are on a mission to scale this technology globally. To do so, we are looking for a AI Implementation Intern to support our AI Implementation Managerin designing, building, and integrating advanced AI agents and conversational automation solutions using LLMs, workflows, and APIs.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a technically strong, proactive, and highly curious AI Implementation Intern tojoin the AI Implementation Team, reporting directly to the AI Implementation Manager.This role is ideal for students or recent graduates in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related technical fields who want to gain hands-on experience building real Generative AI solutions.As you grow, this role can evolve into an AI Implementation Specialist.

You’ll work at the intersection of LLMs, APIs, automation, and conversational design, using our low-code platform while also applying your technical background to build complex workflows, integrate third-party systems, and create production-ready AI agents.

This is not a theoretical or research role: you will build, break, test, refine, and ship.Your work will have a direct impact on product quality, customer satisfaction, and the scalability of our solutions.

If you’re excited by prompt engineering, data structuring, APIs, and orchestrating multi-step AI pipelines (and you want to see your work used by real clients) this internship is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conversational & Workflow Design – Translate business requirements into structured conversational flows and multi-step agent logic.

• AI Agent Implementation –Build and configure AI agents on the indigo.ai platform, orchestrating LLMs, reasoning modules, variables, and functions.

• API Integration Setup–Configure and test REST API calls, enabling agents to retrieve data, trigger actions, and interact with third-party systems.

• Knowledge Base Structuring–Analyze client documentation and transform it into optimized formats for LLM consumption.

• Debugging & Optimization– Identify issues, refine prompts, improve workflows, and ensure agents meet performance expectations.

You will need:

• Technical Foundation – Academic background (completed or in progress) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields.

• Basic Programming Skills – Familiarity with at least one language such as Python or JavaScript. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable reading and writing simple code.

• API & Data Handling Basics – Understanding of what REST APIs are, how JSON works, and curiosity for integrating external systems.

• Interest in Generative AI – Hands-on experimentation with LLMs, prompts, or AI tools (even personal projects or university assignments count).

• Logical & Analytical Mindset – Ability to reason step-by-step, break down problems, and pay attention to detail.

• Proactivity & Ownership – Willingness to ask questions, learn quickly, and take responsibility for your work in a dynamic environment.

• Language Skills – Excellent Italian (C1) for building high-quality conversational content and good English for documentation and collaboration.

We will really like (but they are not required):

• Light Programming Experience – Small personal projects in Python or JavaScript, or familiarity with Git/GitHub.

• Exposure to Service Design Tools – Comfort with Figma, Miro, or similar tools.

• Basic Backend or Cloud Concepts – Even introductory understanding of APIs, databases, or cloud platforms.

• Experience with No-Code / Low-Code Tools – Having used tools like Make.com, Zapier, or similar workflow builders.

• Curiosity About LLM Techniques – Interest in RAG, embeddings, data preprocessing, or prompt optimization.

Where is the work?
