Telespazio in Abruzzo, Italy is seeking a System Operations Engineer to support Galileo Second Generation activities. The role is embedded at ESA/ESTEC to aid in defining operational design, ensuring industry deliverables meet operational needs and are ready for use.

The position involves a 1.5-year secondment to ESA/ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. You will help define operations, manage interfaces, and plan validation campaigns, while working within a multidisciplinary team committed to

Competenze

• Master’s degree with a strong systems orientation.
• Experience in space systems engineering or space operations.
• Working knowledge of GNSS and Galileo system architecture.
• Ability to work autonomously and take initiative, with curiosity and drive to improve.

Mansioni

• Define, consolidate and maintain the G2G System and Mission Operations Concept (OpsCon).
• Derive and consolidate operational and operability requirements and trace them to specs.
• Contribute to migration from G1G to G2G and coexistence strategy.
• Analyse, model operational processes and mission timelines.
• Define the operations organisation: roles, responsibilities and interfaces.
• Assess industrial deliverables against operational requirements and support reviews.
• Plan and support operational validation campaigns.
• Support the system through mission phases up to Operations Readiness Review and handover.
