Startup Solutions Architects work with AWS customers to help them maximize the value of the Cloud. They engage with startups at different stages, supporting the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS, understanding the customer’s business needs, and providing prescriptive guidance on creating business value with technology. They also contribute to technical content and best practices at scale.

In this role you will link technology to tangible solutions, educate AWS customers about the art of the possible, and produce cloud-native reference architectures for a variety of use cases. You will have opportunities to grow expertise in industry and technology areas of depth, and you will learn daily from customers, peers, and your own experiments.

Responsibilities

• As a Solutions Architect, work directly with customers to accelerate projects and recommend best-practice architectures aligned with their long-term business outcomes.
• Own the technical relationship with the customer and act as their trusted advisor. Customer interests shape the guidance provided.
• Share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for the AWS platform.
• Create and capture best practices, technical content, and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts).
• Evangelize and educate about AWS technology (e.g. workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).
• Contribute to the growth of the Solutions Architecture organization by hiring, coaching, and mentoring others.
• Develop areas of depth in technical domains relevant to your interests and customer outcomes.
• Collaborate within the startup ecosystem (accelerators, incubators, VCs and meetups) to educate startups and support their growth.

A day in the life

The Solutions Architect team at AWS helps customers successfully implement cloud technologies. In a typical week you will meet multiple customers and collaborate on designing and operating well-architected solutions, earning their trust and educating them on AWS capabilities. Working with internal teams and experts, you’ll craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address customers’ business problems, while continuously learning and innovating daily.

The AWS Startup Solutions Architecture team focuses on startup companies as they build and scale. We help them deploy the best, most scalable, and most secure architectures while optimizing time and cost. Basic Qualifications

• Technical Degree (Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or equivalent) and/or relevant technical experience
• Experience in Software, Systems, or Data Design
• Fluency in Italian and English

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, refactoring or operating large-scale IT projects—on premises or in the cloud
• Knowledge of a modern programming language (Python, JavaScript, Go, .NET, Java, etc.)
• Deep knowledge in a technology domain such as distributed web/mobile apps, DevOps, Serverless, Big Data, analytics, Machine Learning, or highly secured workloads
• CTO/co-founder/architect experience for a VC-backed technology startup
