MERMEC, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement software for managing our devices, including user interfaces and data flow.

You will define algorithms for image and 3D data processing and train neural networks for classification, detection, and segmentation. The role requires collaboration with customers and internal teams, adherence to software development practices, and active contribution to product improvements.

Competenze

• Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or similar.
• 3 years of experience in similar roles.
• Knowledge of C#/C++ (knowledge of C, Java, Javascript is a plus).
• Experience in multithreading.
• Experience in image and/or 3D data processing.
• Knowledge of computer vision algorithms.
• Experience in using deep learning techniques for classification/detection/segmentation is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of TensorFlow/Keras or PyTorch is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of OpenCV or Halcon is a strong plus.
• Good communication skills in written and spoken Italian (at least B2).
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English is essential.

Mission

The Software engineer, reporting to the Team Leader, will be responsible for designing and implementing the software for managing our devices, implementing User Interfaces and managing the data flow.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing software and system requirements
• Participating in brain storming sessions for defining solutions to specific problems
• Defining and implementing algorithms processing images and point clouds
• Defining and implementing and training neural network for classification, detection and segmentation
• Liaising with internal and external customers at technical level to define interfaces and detail requirements
• Implementing software solutions according to software specification and quality requirements
• Supporting testing activities
• Complying with corporate rules ad practices for software development
• Estimating implementation effort for given tasksCooperating with colleagues to define common solutions
• Propose actively improvements to software products and procedures
• Interface and cooperate with other company departments

Technical Skills, Qualifications and Professional Experience

• Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or similar
