Job summary

TR2 SRLS is seeking a talented computer vision/ML engineer in Rome to design and deploy advanced CV and AI pipelines for industrial and sensing applications. You will lead algorithm development from prototyping to real-world deployment.

This core technical role focuses on remote sensing, industrial inspection, and environmental monitoring, taking research concepts to deployed products while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• MSc/PhD in Computer Science, CV, ML or related field.
• 4+ years in computer vision or deep learning.
• Strong Python and ML framework expertise (PyTorch or TensorFlow).
• Experience with CNNs, transformers and detection/segmentation frameworks.
• Experience deploying ML models in production environments.
• Familiarity with MLOps (Docker, CI/CD, model versioning).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise computer vision algorithms for sensing applications.
• Lead the technical architecture of vision-based products from prototype to production.
• Implement and evaluate models for detection, segmentation, classification and tracking.

Job Description

Design and deploy advanced computer vision and AI pipelines for industrial and sensing applications. You will lead algorithm development from prototyping to real-world deployment.

This is a core technical role in the company. You will work on state-of-the-art vision systems applied to remote sensing, industrial inspection and environmental monitoring, taking solutions from research concept to deployed product.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise computer vision algorithms and deep learning pipelines for sensing applications
• Lead the technical architecture of vision-based products from prototyping to production deployment
• Implement and evaluate state-of-the-art models for object detection, segmentation, classification and tracking
• Develop data processing pipelines for satellite, drone and ground-based imagery
• Collaborate with the research team on EU-funded R&D projects involving AI and sensing
• Perform model training, validation and optimisation on real-world datasets
• Ensure code quality, documentation and reproducibility of results
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical strategy

Must-have Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning or related field
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in computer vision or deep learning
• Strong proficiency in Python, PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Solid experience with CNN architectures, transformers and modern detection/segmentation frameworks
• Experience deploying ML models in production environments
• Familiarity with MLOps practices (Docker, CI/CD, model versioning)

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Experience with remote sensing or satellite imagery analysis (SAR, multispectral, hyperspectral)
• Knowledge of 3D vision, point cloud processing or SLAM
• Experience with edge deployment (NVIDIA Jetson, ONNX, TensorRT)
• Publications in top-tier venues (CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS)
• Experience with EU-funded research projects
