BeyondShape è una startup innovativa e Spin-off dell'Università di Napoli Federico II, specializzata nello sviluppo di sistemi di scansione 3D e piattaforme software per la valutazione biomedicale. La sede operativa si trova in Via Ferrante Imparato 192, all'interno di un polo tecnologico deep-tech che ospita diversi spin-off nati dall'Università Federico II, un ambiente dinamico e stimolante per chi vuole lavorare a contatto con altre realtà innovative del territorio.Siamo alla ricerca di un Software Engineer da inserire nel nostro team tecnico, che si occuperà della gestione end-to-end delle infrastrutture IT e cloud a supporto dei nostri sistemi di scansione 3D, dello sviluppo firmware per moduli di visione e sensori (anche indossabili), e dell'integrazione di algoritmi avanzati di analisi biomedicale basati su modellistica 3D e intelligenza artificiale.Il ruolo è ideale per chi ha una formazione da ingegnere dell'automazione/robotica ed è abituato a lavorare all'intersezione tra meccanica, elettronica e software. La persona selezionata lavorerà sull'intera pipeline tecnologica della piattaforma BeyondShape: dal firmware degli scanner, al backend e all'infrastruttura cloud che raccoglie, elabora ed espone i dati clinici, fino al deployment sul campo presso i clienti.Avrà inoltre l'opportunità di contribuire a progetti di ricerca e sviluppo avanzati, anche in collaborazione con l'Università Federico II e altri spin-off del polo tecnologico.

Our operating office is located at Via Ferrante Imparato 192, inside a deep-tech innovation hub that hosts several spin-offs originating from the University Federico II, a dynamic, stimulating environment for anyone who wants to work alongside other innovative ventures in the area.We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our technical team, responsible for the end-to-end management of the IT and cloud infrastructure supporting our 3D scanning systems, the development of firmware for vision modules and sensors (including wearables), and the integration of advanced biomedical analysis algorithms based on 3D modeling and artificial intelligence. This role is ideal for someone with a background in automation/robotics engineering, who is used to working at the intersection of mechanics, electronics, and software.The selected candidate will work across the entire technology pipeline of the BeyondShape platform: from scanner firmware, to the backend and cloud infrastructure that collects, processes and exposes clinical data, all the way to on-site deployment at customer premises. They will also have the opportunity to contribute to advanced research and development projects, including in collaboration with the University Federico II and other spin-offs from the technology hub.ResponsibilitiesDesign, manage and maintain the IT and cloud infrastructure (AWS) supporting the fleet of 3D scanners used for biomedical assessment: resource provisioning, storage and management of clinical data and scans, networking, monitoring and security.Integrate advanced biomedical analysis algorithms into the cloud infrastructure, based on 3D modeling and artificial intelligence/machine learning, including training/inference pipelines and, where needed, GPU-based computing.Design microservice-based, containerized architectures for scan processing, with APIs for integration between scanners, cloud backend and client applications.Define and maintain pipelines for the automated release of firmware, application software and cloud services, ensuring versioning, testing and controlled rollback.Oversee the implementation, configuration and deployment of software directly on customer machines, including updates.Provide remote technical support to customers, monitor the status of machines in the field (logging, telemetry, alerting), and diagnose/resolve any issues.Develop embedded firmware for vision systems and sensors (3D cameras, depth sensors, wearable devices) integrated into the BeyondShape platform, handling hardware communication, drivers and protocols.Integrate new vision modules and sensors, including wearables, ensuring interoperability with the software and cloud ecosystem.Manage storage and security of health/clinical data per GDPR and medical-sector cybersecurity standards.Take part in R&D projects, including with universities, research institutions and other spin-offs.Document architectures and procedures to support training, maintenance and support RequirementsMaster Degree or Degree in Automation & Robotics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.Experience developing firmware/embedded software for vision systems or sensors, on microcontrollers or embedded Linux platforms (e.G. Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson).Knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++ and Python.Experience designing and managing cloud architectures (AWS): compute, storage, networking, identity and security services.Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies and CI/CD pipelines (e.G. GitHub).Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (e.G. MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and microservice/REST API architectures.Familiarity with computer vision algorithms, 3D modeling and artificial intelligence/machine learning techniques, along with related training/inference pipelines (experience with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow is a plus).Experience with hardware-software integration of sensors and IoT/wearable devices, including low-power communication protocols (BLE, Wi‑Fi).Basic knowledge of cybersecurity and data protection topics (GDPR), with particular attention to the handling of clinical/health data.Ability to work in a team, strong problem-solving skills, and effective communication, including directly with customers.
