Job summary

Danfoss is seeking a software developer to build the foundation of an intelligent edge platform that connects and monitors field devices in real time. You will enable real-time monitoring and insights to help customers reduce waste, optimize energy use, and advance sustainability.

You will design scalable backend services in Rust and Go, implement MQTT-based messaging, and own features from architecture to production.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and build scalable backend services in Rust and Go to support real-time edge computing solutions.
• Develop reliable messaging and connectivity capabilities using MQTT to ensure seamless device communication and data flow.
• Own features from architecture and development through deployment and production support to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Create APIs and integration solutions that connect field devices with cloud-based services and applications.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and field teams to continuously improve platform performance, scalability, and reliability.

What We're Looking For

• Experience with development experience with strong proficiency in Rust and/or Go.
• Extensive hands-on experience with MQTT and real-time messaging systems.
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying microservices in Edge environments.
• Ability to take ownership of solutions throughout the full development lifecycle.
• Professional English communication skills for collaboration and technical documentation.
• A \"Let's get it done\" mindset-you take initiative, solve problems, and make things happen.
• End-to-end ownership—you own the entire product, from code, tests, and CI/CD pipelines to reliability and delivering a great user experience.

Compensation & Benefits (ITA)

• Contract Type: Permanent Contract
• Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL): CCNL Metalmeccanica Industria (CNEL Code C011)
• Annual Gross Salary Range: €36,000 - €45,000
• Bonus Scheme: Variable component expressed as a percentage of annual gross salary, linked to company and/or individual performance.
• Salary Review: Conducted annually, based on individual performance and overall company results.
