Danfoss is seeking a Backend Engineer to help build cloud-native backend services powering IoT solutions. You will implement scalable architectures, work with Go, TypeScript (NestJS), and Python, and collaborate with senior engineers to evolve platform core services.

Hybrid role based in Sofia with opportunities for long-term career development. The team emphasizes modern cloud technologies, AI-assisted development, and best practices across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional experience developing cloud-native backend services in an event-driven architecture (Kafka).
• Strong experience with Go, plus professional experience in TypeScript (NestJS) and Python.
• Experience building scalable, reliable, production-grade solutions with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Knowledge of MQTT and Sparkplug B is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English and ability to collaborate in an international engineering environment.

As our new Backend Engineer, you’ll contribute in building the cloud platform core services that power Danfoss’ IoT solutions — from connecting devices and processing telemetry to supporting business‑critical workflows. You’ll build and ship features alongside senior engineers who own the architecture, and we'll invest in growing your backend and cloud expertise over the next few years.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and maintain cloud-native backend services, delivering new features that continuously strengthen our Cloud Platform.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of our software development lifecycle through code reviews, troubleshooting, documentation and better development practices.

What We're Looking For

• 2–4 years of professional experience developing cloud-native backend services, ideally in an event‑driven architecture using Kafka.
• Strong experience with Go, combined with professional experience in TypeScript (NestJS) and Python.
• Experience building scalable, reliable and production‑grade solutions, with good knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Knowledge of MQTT and Sparkplug B is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English, with the ability to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively and work in an international engineering environment.
