Kyndryl è alla ricerca di un/a Senior Java Developer per Roma, Italia, in ruolo full time. Il candidato progetterà, costruirà e manterrà logiche di business complesse sui mainframe moderni, integrando servizi cloud e interfacce RESTful.

Il candidato ideale ha solide competenze in Java 17, Spring Boot 3.x, microservizi, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka e OpenAPI 3.0. Si richiede esperienza in Docker, Kubernetes o OpenShift, test con JUnit 5 e una forte attenzione alla qualità del codice e alla sicurezza.

Competenze

  • 5+ anni di esperienza nello sviluppo Java e microservizi.
  • Progettazione e implementazione di applicazioni basate su microservizi.
  • Conoscenza di PostgreSQL e Redis, e messaggistica con Kafka.
  • Abilità nello sviluppo di RESTful API e OpenAPI 3.0.
  • Esperienza con Docker e orchestrazione (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
  • Test automatizzati con JUnit 5 e pratiche di qualità del codice.
  • Documentazione tecnica chiara e capacità di lavorare in team interdisciplinari.

The Role

Bring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world’s MIPS and play a critical role in our modernization mission. You’ll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization. Experts who share knowledge openly and collaborate freely.

In this role, you’ll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you’ll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe’s core data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and testing Java microservices based on predefined architectural and functional specifications
  • Implementing business logic for complex, highly reliable transactional processes
  • Contributing to the development of orchestration, integration, and data synchronization services
  • Implementing REST APIs documented using the OpenAPI 3.0 specification
  • Writing automated unit and integration tests, while contributing to the overall quality and maintainability of the codebase
  • Supporting debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization activities
  • Collaborating with the team on observability, structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing initiatives
  • Developing highly reliable services for transactional processes with stringent scalability and resilience requirements
Who You Are

The candidate must possess the following mandatory skills and qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Proficiency in Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.x
  • Experience in designing and implementing applications based on the microservices architectural pattern
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and Redis
  • Familiarity with Apache Kafka or equivalent messaging systems
  • Ability to develop and consume RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of OpenAPI 3.0 and Swagger specifications
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift
  • Solid experience in automated testing using JUnit 5
  • Experience with static code analysis tools to ensure code quality and security
  • Basic knowledge of structured logging, monitoring, and observability practices
  • Ability to independently manage technical tasks, from requirements analysis through implementation
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with architects, business analysts, and testers
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and adherence to project and security standards
  • Good technical documentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders

The following skills and experience will be considered a plus:

  • Experience in mainframe-to-cloud migration projects or legacy system modernization initiatives
  • Experience in developing with Python
  • Knowledge of Spring Cloud Gateway, Resilience4j, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins)
  • Experience with data integration and synchronization solutions in hybrid cloud/mainframe environments
  • Experience working in environments with stringent security, audit trail, and traceability requirements
  • Knowledge of architectural and migration patterns such as Strangler Fig, Dual Run, rollback strategies, and transactional consistency management
  • Experience with platforms heavily dependent on integrations with external systems and legacy back-end environments
