We believe MacGregor is a great place to work and we are looking for innovators with an international mindset to join our team and help us create lifetime value for our customers.

MacGregor - Let's shape the future together

We are looking for a Service Engineer with expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or automation systems. You will work on and around hatch covers, ramps, winches, cranes, gangways, passerelles, tender garages, and steering gear systems - primarily on MegaYachts and other marine vessels — out in the field at shipyards, at client sites, and onboard vessels worldwide. As a Service Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the reputation and professional image of the company through your interactions with shipyards, vessel crews, owners, and customers worldwide.

Main tasks and responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and automation systems.
  • Liaise professionally with shipyard personnel, captains, chief engineers, project managers, and vessel representatives to ensure smooth communication throughout project execution.
  • Read and work from technical drawings and documentation.
  • Follow all site safety rules, agreed working practices, and environmental requirements.
  • Prepare accurate service reports, time sheets, travel expenses, and other required documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external customers, representing MacGregor professionally on site.
  • Cooperate with the wider MacGregor service network across Europe.
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Apprenticeship, technical diploma, or degree in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, marine engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in a comparable role as a Service Technician or Service Engineer, ideally within the maritime or shipping industry.
  • Ability to work independently with a structured, goal-oriented, and reliable approach.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals and use standard hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Good digital skills, including day-to-day use of MS Office (especially Excel) and comfort using internal company systems.
  • Good command of English (minimum B2 Level)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid driving license.
  • Willingness to travel extensively worldwide, including overnight and multi-week assignments.
