Topcon Positioning Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Field Survey Applications (C++) to join our Field Software team and contribute to cross‑platform applications used by surveyors, engineers and construction professionals worldwide.

You will design, develop and maintain field survey apps for Windows, Linux, Android and iOS using C++, Qt and QML, enabling reliable data collection and device communication in demanding field environments.

Competenze

• 3+ years of professional C++ development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Qt and/or QML for cross‑platform development.
• Strong understanding of OO programming, algorithms and data structures.

Mansioni

• Design, develop and maintain field survey applications for Windows, Linux, Android and iOS using C++, Qt and QML.
• Build reliable software modules for data collection, device communication, positioning workflows and field operations.
• Integrate Topcon and third‑party equipment including GNSS receivers and robotic total stations.
• Analyse requirements, estimate development effort and contribute to planning and delivery decisions.
• Support the full software lifecycle: architecture, coding, testing, documentation and release support.
• Troubleshoot complex software and hardware‑integration issues, translating field feedback into robust solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, team leaders, QA, product teams and international colleagues.
• Improve code quality and internal tooling and processes.

Topcon is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Field Survey Applications (C++) to join our Field Software team and contribute to advanced applications used by surveyors, engineers and construction professionals worldwide.

In this role, you will work on cross-platform software that connects directly with GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, laser range finders and other field devices, helping users collect, process and apply precise positioning data in demanding field environments.

What you will do

• Design, develop and maintain field survey applications for Windows, Linux, Android and iOS using C++, Qt and QML.
• Build reliable software modules for data collection, device communication, positioning workflows and field operations.
• Integrate Topcon and third-party equipment including GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, laser range finders and other connected devices.
• Analyse technical requirements, estimate development effort and contribute to planning, prioritisation and delivery decisions.
• Support the full software lifecycle: architecture, coding, debugging, testing, documentation, release support and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot complex software and hardware‑integration issues, translating field feedback into robust technical solutions.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, team leaders, QA, product teams and international engineering colleagues.
• Contribute to code quality, internal best practices, tool improvements and scalable software processes.

What we are looking for

• 3+ years of professional C++ software development experience, ideally in complex technical or product environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Qt and/or QML for cross‑platform application development.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented programming, software design principles, algorithms, data structures and multithreaded development.
• Experience developing for Windows; exposure to Linux, Android or iOS is considered a strong plus.
• Familiarity with communication protocols, hardware interfaces, debugging tools, version control, bug tracking and CI/CD practices.
• Interest or experience in, geodesy, topography, optical survey, CAD/GIS, spatial algorithms or construction technology would be highly valuable.
• Good written and spoken English; Italian is helpful but not essential.
