Job summary

Capgemini Portugal is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our teams in Lisbon, delivering high-quality solutions for Banking and Financial Services. You will own end-to-end testing across backend systems, design test scenarios for APIs and databases, and validate data and batch processing.

You will develop automated tests with Karate, validate functional and non-functional requirements, and contribute to CI/CD testing within Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and software testing.
• Strong backend testing, API testing, database validation, and batch processing validation.
• Experience with Karate Framework for test automation.

• Perform backend validation, including database testing, data reconciliation, and batch processing verification.

• Manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle and collaborate with development and business teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Contribute to CI/CD testing activities and quality gates within Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Work closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with business requirements.

YOUR PROFILE

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Software Testing.
• Strong experience in Backend Testing, including API Testing, Database Validation, and Batch Processing Validation.
• Hands-on experience with test automation using Karate Framework.
• Solid Functional and Manual Testing expertise, including test design techniques, boundary testing, test execution, and defect management.
• Strong SQL knowledge with practical experience in joins, aggregations, subqueries, and data validation.
• Experience working with Azure DevOps, including test management and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of testing activities.
• Previous experience in Banking or Financial Services environments.
• Knowledge of domains such as UTP, Credit Scoring, Loans, Risk Management, and Loan Restructuring is highly valued.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
