Job summary

Trinasolar ISBU, a business unit of Trinasolar, seeks a Senior PV & BESS Engineer to lead and oversee utility-scale PV and battery storage projects in Italy. You will own technical scope, validate designs, and manage permitting and grid-connection activities, coordinating with clients, consultants, and EPC partners.

The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, 7+ years in renewable energy, and fluency in Italian and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in utility-scale renewable energy projects with PV and/or BESS.
• Experience across full lifecycle from development to COD.
• Strong permitting, grid connection, and Italian regulatory familiarity.
• Experience coordinating third parties during permitting in Italy.
• Knowledge of Italian grid connection processes (TERNA, E-Distribuzione).
• Familiar with AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Project, and MS Office.
• Fluent in Italian and English; other European languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of project plans including objectives, budgets, schedules.
• Own the technical scope of utility-scale PV and BESS projects and design validation.
• Drive technical reviews of engineering deliverables and supplier docs for compliance.
• Focus on permitting activities and alignment with standards.
• Review executive designs for alignment with grid codes and permitting conditions.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Produce or review preliminary studies and design documentation.
• Support MV/HV grid connection topics and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate RFQ/RFP processes and prepare technical specifications.
• Review engineering for PV and BESS ensuring budget and schedule alignment.
• Act as technical liaison among internal teams, clients, consultants, contractors.
• Supervise design interfaces ensuring PV, BESS, substation, grid connection integration.
