Allianz AGCS, Milano, seeks a Senior Property Underwriter for Italy and Southern Europe. Based in Milano, you will join the Property WW UW Community to underwrite large corporate risks and renewals, while developing bespoke solutions for key clients and brokers.

You will collaborate with a global team, manage portfolios, negotiate terms, and drive regional strategy as part of the Local CUO, contributing to profitable growth across Southern Europe.

• 5–10 years of relevant experience as an underwriter, broker, or equivalent in property insurance.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong communication skills in an international matrix organization.
• Working knowledge of English.

We are looking for a Senior Property Underwriter for Italy and Southern Europe Region based in Milano.

Your Team

AGCS has a long-standing tradition of supporting the property and business interruption (PDBI) insurance solutions in all kinds of industries, from upper middle market clients to large corporates. Our team has many years of practical experience of leading the largest PDBI risks in the Italy market with international insurance programs. In Italy the Team is composed of 3 Senior UWs, 1 Junior UW and 1 Assistant UW.

The Impact You Will Have

Based in Milano and being a member of the Property WW UW Community. You will work closely with clients and brokers to develop personalized solutions as well as developing new relationships. You will be responsible for work alongside a Global Team and as Regional Head of Underwriting Large Corporate for Southern Europe to underwrite profitable new and renewal business. Your responsibilities also include supporting for negotiating participation, pricing and terms conditions, acquiring new business and retaining existing business. Furthermore, you will be in charge of steering proper pipelines, plans, and portfolio analyses of the Region Southern Europe as counterpart of the Global CUO Team with the Local CUO.

Some of your specific responsibilities will include:

• Develop and execute the Property Line of Business (LoB) regional strategy and proactively support the development of the global LoB strategy
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients
• Ownership of large accounts / clients and ultimate responsibility for accounts
• Manage and Steer the local portfolio also creating pipelines, discussing plans, carrying on portfolio analyses
• Market Relationship Management
• Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)
• Coordinate with local Distribution to drive successful execution of strategic plan
• Communicate Regional LoB strategy externally in Italy together with Market Contacts and Distribution
• Positively represent AGCS internally within the Allianz Group, and externally to the market
• Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including e.g. Distribution, ARC, Claims, Operations

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

• You have completed an appropriate level of education
• You ideally have 5/10 years relevant experience as an Underwriter, Broker or relevant equivalent in the Property insurance sector
• You have an entrepreneurial mindset and strong communication skillsYou are able to work in an international matrix organization
• You have a working knowledge of the English language
• You have the ability to assess risks, coverages, terms and conditions of a (potential) insurance placement and can translate this into an insurance offer
• You are a true team player and well established within the market.
• You have relationships with clients and brokers at peer group level

Data reporting

Pursuant to Article 5(1) of Legislative Decree No. 96 of 7 May 2026, as amended and supplemented from time to time, the range applicable to the position offered is between 60.000 gross and 70.000 gross. Employment will be subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the National Collective Labor Agreement for Insurance Companies and the applicable Company Agreement. The final determination of the starting remuneration will be based on an evaluation of the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience in relation to the requirements of the role.
