Job summary

GXP CONSULTING Switzerland is seeking a Senior Packaging Project Manager to lead strategic initiatives in packaging for a pharmaceutical client in Italy. You will manage complex packaging projects, coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Packaging, Quality, Validation and more.

The role requires proven leadership in packaging line modification or installation, with hands-on experience in Data Integrity, serialization, and GMP documentation.

Qualifications

• Senior project manager with experience in packaging line modification, installation or revamping projects.
• Solid knowledge of primary and secondary packaging, including bottle and blister lines.
• Experience defining or implementing Data Integrity roadmaps / ALCOA+ across packaging systems.
• Hands-on exposure to serialization / track-and-trace on packaging lines preferred.
• Familiarity with C&Q, validation, change control and GMP documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage industrial packaging projects in regulated, cross-functional environments.
• Build and maintain integrated project plans with milestones, dependencies, resources, deliverables.
• Coordinate execution across Engineering, Packaging, Quality, Validation, Automation/IT, EHS, Procurement and external suppliers.
• Monitor timelines, costs, quality and risks; upscale as needed.
• Gather and formalise technical, functional, regulatory and operational requirements.
• Prepare and facilitate project meetings, steering committees and management decisions.
• Produce progress reports, executive summaries, risk registers and action logs.
• Contribute to project documentation and site governance materials (change control, technical documents)

For one of our pharmaceutical clients bases in Italy, we are looking for an experienced Senior Packaging Project Manager to lead strategic initiatives in the packaging area.

Your mission

You will lead three key initiatives: defining a Data Integrity roadmap for the packaging area with serialization expertise, modifying existing bottle packaging lines, and introducing new blister packaging lines.

Your responsibilities

• Manage industrial packaging projects and operate effectively in complex, regulated, and cross-functional environments
• Build and maintain integrated project plans (milestones, dependencies, resources, deliverables)
• Coordinate execution across Engineering, Packaging, Quality, Validation, Automation/IT, EHS, Procurement and external suppliers

Your profile

• Senior project manager with proven experience in packaging line modification, installation or revamping projects, ideally in pharma or life sciences
• Solid knowledge of primary and secondary packaging, with hands-on exposure to bottle and blister lines
• Demonstrated experience defining or implementing Data Integrity roadmaps / ALCOA+ across packaging systems and equipment
• Hands-on experience with serialization / track-and-trace on packaging lines strongly preferred
• Familiarity with C&Q, validation, change control and GMP documentation
• Experience with Site Asset Management Plans is a plus
• Strong planning, prioritisation and reporting skills; autonomous and ownership-driven
• Cross-functional leadership and clear communication with multidisciplinary teams
• Fluent English and professional in Italian with international project experience
